On May 12th of 2020 we decided to load up the SUV and hit the road for the Great Smokey Mountains. The trip was short and sweet and full of views. I didn’t use my D750 as much as i wanted to due to size as we were trying to travel light when ever we weren’t driving but below are some of the shots taken using a Nikon 28mm F1.8 & a Nikon 85mm F1.8.

Last Photo is an out of focus tree. Long exposure taken in complete darkness with only a cellphone flash to set camera settings. Hoping we can redo these photographs in the future.

Washington D.C. x Nikon 2020 by Jose Soto

In January of 2020 we took a quick weekend trip to Washington D.C. For this trip I brought my work camera, the Nikon D750 along with my Nikon 28mm 1.8G and 85mm 1.8G lenses. The 28mm lens lived on the camera body for most of the weekend as we weren’t exactly there to take portraits which is what the 85mm would of been mostly used for.

BONUS

We happen to check out the infamous stairwell that was used for both the beginning and ending of the very popular 1973 movie by William Friedkin “The Exorcist”.

Tokyo, Japan X Fujifilm 2019 by Jose Soto

Using the Fujifilm XT20 in Tokyo, Japan equipped with Fuji XF35mm F2 & Samyang 12mm F2 lenses. Below are some random photographs from the trip. Everything was shot in .JPEG format and lightly touched up in Snapseed on the go.

Seoul, South Korea x Fujifilm 2019 by Jose Soto

Using the Fujifilm XT20 in Seoul South Korea. Equipped with Fuji XF35mm f2 & Samyang 12mm f2 lenses. Below are some random photographs from the trip. Everything was shot in .JPEG format and lightly touched up in Snapseed on the go except for a select few that I touched up on Afinity Photo Editor. (Normally I photograph important things like client work in RAW format but for this trip I wanted to keep settings as simple as possible because Fujifilm X-trans sensors does a great job possessing the images.

Traveling with the Fuji X-T20 by Jose Soto

In April of 2019 I took my first Non Caribbean international trip to South Korea & Japan. The Fuji X-T20 was my travel camera of choice alongside the XF35mm F2 lens that gives a field of view of about 50mm on full frame cameras, good for general purpose street photographs and some portraits. Also in my light weight kit was a Samyang 12mm F2 Manual lens for my nice wide shots. The lens being manual focus only didn't slow me down as I was able to put it on an aperture like F4 and get almost everything in focus since the lens is so wide, And if I wanted to keep the 12mm on a shallower aperture of F2 the Focus Peaking assistance from the Fuji makes focusing so much more fun to play with. The third lens I owned at the time but left behind was the 18-55mm F2.8-4 Kit lens which in my opinion is one of the best kit lens ever made for any camera ever. Unfortunately I left that kit lens at home due to it being a bigger lens (still very compact compared to full frame lenses) But I needed my kit to fit into a very small chest bag to keep it as portable and light as possible. (I did regret not bringing that lens, if you happen to own it make sure you take it with you on your next adventure lol)

LETS TRY THIS

AGAIN

Over the years I've stopped posting images to this blog space due to life situations, Work, and pure laziness. Keeping up with a site can really be a dreadful task when you don't have much to post or even much of an audience to share with. During this world pandemic a lot of  people including myself started feeling like life is too short to not share all of it. With these upcoming post I hope to share some of my past trips that I’ve kept photographs of in the stash and just some everyday photos that might showcase the quality of certain lens or cameras in hopes that it can help someone make the right decision when purchasing equipment. I am a Photographer first so these post will always tie back to that.

KITH Brooklyn Grand Opening 2015 by Jose Soto

Tuesday August 25th KITH Brooklyn Flagship store re-opened its doors to the public. The entire store was revamped and is now more then twice as big as it previously was. The grand opening turned out to be a fun event full of celebrities and freebies. Tennis legend Andre Agassi was in the building meeting lucky guests. The coolest part about this grand opening is the fact that NYC's first cereal bar was opened as well, in the same space called what else but KITH TREATS!.. These are some pictures I took myself at the event.

NOW ITS TIME TO EAT!
